I would buy drapes that match/work with your trim color. I can't say on the light fixture without knowing what style you like.

Is the rug staying? Why blue? I would go with a very bold large pattern in a black adn white for curtain panels. May as well hang them just below the ceiling trim so yes a black rod.

@arcy_gw we just finished the wainscotting and paint so the walls will be that blue with white trim and the rug is staying.

i like the idea of a black rod with white curtains to match the trim. any links for style curtain and rod that would go?. maybe we would do a black fixture as well. the current one is from the 80s and is a brassy gold color.

our style we have been told is transitional. we dont want something super modern but nothing too traditional. we have touches of farmhouse and modern (but not ultramodern) in our house so any open to any suggestions on light fixture.

the room attached is painted agreeable gray and will be a play room for a few years for our small kids. so just lots of toys for now on a light gray rug

I think that light works well with the round table. Your rug is traditional but really not big enough for the size of the table and heft of chairs. Does rug come in larger size? I would do a acrylic rod with gold details. Panels on each end and sheers in center. Just add plain sheets for privacy at night but still let light in at night.

Better picture. I would do the square trellis in the “natural” color. You could replicate this look in less expensive items if budget is tight.

The attached article regarding Ikea drapes might be helpful and note in the photos where rods are placed. (I have drapes that were twice the price and Ikea’s are as nice.) Suggest using solid white and accessorizing will be much easier; rug has enough pattern. In regards to chandelier, hard to suggest. Maybe look at inspiration rooms to identify the look you are after and how to incorporate the styles of room and table. (I could see black/brass for your room).

IMO a deeper blue rug would be a better backdrop for the furnishings.

It might be a nice idea to combine the current colors you have, green and blue, so that everything is more cohesive. Try looking into some artwork and window treatments that combine both colors or look into a new rug that also combines both colors. The designs below might give you a few ideas if you are trying to tie two colors together.
