I suspect that whatever the original plant was, it is long dead. The decayed stem seems to be visible in the centre of the pot. imo you have been nurturing a weed. Perhaps a Parietaria.

Great! Thank you. The dead plant was Euphorbia “Moroccan Mount” I was able to saved the branches from rotting . This Parietaria. Perhaps it a bonus:)!

it looks severely stressed due to lack of any water.. why are you insisting on keeping it so dry .. its wilted ....

if flora is right.. and i agree btw.. why presume the cultural requirements of the hitchhiker is the same as the plant that you bought in the pot ...

give the poor thing a sip of water ...no need to drown it..

Parietaria is edible and it has medicinal uses. It's unfortunate that most people consider it a useless weed. I just read it taste like cucumber. I might start adding it to salads Lol. It's also a butterfly hostplant for the species that use nettle family plants.

I would not wish to imply that weeds are useless. But this one is taking up space in a container which was intended for a more choice cultivated specimen. Uninvited wild plant in the wrong place, hence the label ’weed’.

The lies and deception of the herbicide companies has permeated our society. They want everyone to feel obligated to kill any plant species that isn't part of their perfectly manicured non native turf grass. Any they will use fear, anger, sadness and shame to do it. We are conditioned to feel ashamed and worried if a broadleaf weed appears Anywhere on our property. They don't have any responsibilty to pay for any of the enviremental damage their products cause. We don't have an old and evolved culture here in the states, and if Americans hear false and misleading information 3 or 4 times they will believe the lies and accept them as truth; rather than go and research the science behind it. Well, that's how it seems anyway. When people believe lies, then they magnify the problem by word of mouth. Parts of Europe are trying to do away with herbicides and pesticides at least. Unfortunately the concept of a lawn was borrowed from Europeans. It's uplifting to see someone thrilled about a weed. The OP might also be limited to growing everything in containers?
