IMO no such thing as waterproof flooring even tile needs to redone in a flood. If you mean water resistant then I love our LVP we have in our walkout basement with 3 huge dogs in and out of a free run dog run and that basement is also where the bathroom is for the pool so water pretty much there for sure We have had it for 15 yrs and still looks like new This was old school LVP so no actul backing on it just a adhesive strip that was used to join the pieces together We have had the odd water issue just roll up the flooring deal with the water and put it back. Maybe post a bit more about where you live and what your issues are. Post all that in a commnet here do not start another post.

LVP is usually a good choice as far as durability and water resistance (unless, of course, your house floods).

Tile, ceramic or porcelain.

Porcelain tile. We had a wood look tile in our old house for 9 years, and it looked as good the day we moved out as it did the day it was installed.

Agree that nothing is waterproof ... aim for water resistant!

I prefer wood floors throughout a house, but in the house we built we have a mudroom and long hallway from the garage to the kitchen and we did that area in porcelain tile. Not only do we use that hallway every day, but it is also where our dogs stay when we are gone for several hours, so it needed to be a bit more durable than wood floors.

I agree with the porcelain tile. It is quite water resistant. Several years ago I had Italian Energie Kerr porcelain wood look tile installed in my bathrooms and hallway. My carpenter even found a stain for my new oak staircase that matched well to my hallway porcelain floors. It is easy to clean and looks as good as the day of installation!

Terrazzo. Seriously. Or stained concrete.
