Here are a few orange blooms in my garden

I don’t know how it is at everybody elses house but at mine it is grey and chilly so the bright orange pictures are a nice change!

I enjoy orange in the garden more and more as I get older. I used to associate it with the basketball orange marigolds my neighbors grew. Orange can be luminous and adds so much energy to the garden!

I started appreciating orange in the garden about 2 years ago.

This is orange in reality. It's called Chestnut Mountain. I also have The Barber of Seville, which I love, and Tangiers (new), but no photos.

Mother of Pearl. Not a real orange, but mine is in part shade(less than 4hr sun) so there is always a orange hue over there.

Another orange lover here...but sadly, no pics to contribute. I must must MUST address this lack...especially now I have recently acquired a phone with a camera. Enjoying everyone else's photos but narked that I have no pics of the geums, sphaeralceas, dahlias, escholzias and calendulas which romp in gay profusion.

Oddly, apart from the peachy tones of Crepuscule, Ghislaine de Feligonde and Mrs Oakley Fisher, I don't have orange roses.

Feiy Lo (PNWZ8b) I love your South Africa and your Hot Cocoa has a better color than nearby rose park.

In my shady zone 5a Chicagoland, orange roses bloom better than other colors. Below 12th-year own-root Pat Austin in less than 4 hours of sun. Scent is delicious mango and nectarine and floral, I'm addicted to its scent.

Below 8th-year-own-root Lady of Shalott doesn't like my rock-hard clay. Scent is orange peel & black tea and camphor, NOT as good as Pat Austin.

Below Summer Sun (Kordes floribunda) has perfect glossy leaves and the bright color brightens up my gloomy & shady garden. Nice fruity with a bit of musk scent (better than Lady of Shalott).

Summer Sun blooms in cluster and is zone 5a hardy:

More orange roses in my zone 5a garden, they pair up nicely with purple roses. I miss Summer Samba (floribunda), blooms are large at 4" across with a fruity scent. Roses Unlimited no longer sell this, so I can't replace it.

Below French Romantica Sweet Promise 2007 has a better scent than Sweet Mademoislle. Sweet Promise smells like apple blossoms:

Below is Sweet Promise in spring, it gets my vote as the nicest glossy foliage in my organic & no-spray garden:

Below Crown Princess Magarata gives me the most blooms in only 4 hours of evening sun. Scent is YUMMY, a cross between a nectarine and a passion fruit.

Below Crown Princess Mag. gets orange only in cold fall.

Below is Sweet Mademoiselle (5th year own-root) in 4 hrs. of morning sun. Sweet Mademoiselle can be fruity and myrrh, depending on the pH. I have to raise the pH to make it smell more fruity. It gets more myrrh scent with acidic rain.

Sweet M. below is more orange than yellowish Crown Princess Magareta:

Versigny gets my vote as the most FRAGRANT orange, smells YUM like an apricot pie. It died twice in my zone 5a in the last decade, and Roses Unlimited is always sold out.

Below Versigny's color glows like a sunset. The scent is pure heaven, top 10 among my 150+ fragrant own-root roses:

Below Solitude (grandiflora) is the biggest orange bloom (5" across) but stinky scent, like a bug-spray. It does brighten up my shady garden:

Solitude has bush beauty, much prettier than super-tall About Face:

Below About Face is vigorous as 5th-year own-root in my zone 5a. It's over 7 feet tall in late fall, scent is medium fruity:

Below is About Face to compare with other roses (white is Bolero), middle pink is (Parfume de Paris), dark pink is Peter Mayle:

Below Bronze Star is better than About Face in all aspects, except it doesn't survive my zone 5a winter. About Face lives forever, but I need to winterize Bronze Star in my garage if I buy it again. Bronze Star has a wonderful scent (similar to Versigny), and both are water-hogs. Bronze Star smells like a tropical desert.

Below Sutter's Gold has a nice scent (similar to Bronze Star), but Sutter's Gold is very stingy as own root. It didn't survive my zone 5a winter. I like Bronze Star way better than Sutter's Gold.

Ken, lovely azalea! I have a fantastically orange native azalea that sweet neighbor planted in my yard decades ago. It's always so cheerful in April.

Orange and apricot are my favorite rose colors 😍

Below climbing America has huge bloom at 4" across, but not much scent as 1st-year own root.

Below Evelyn is more orange than Abraham Darby. Evelyn has the best scent among my orange roses, besides Versigny. Sweet Mademoiselle is on left, and Evelyn is on right, scent is sweetest peaches and floral.

I've just got the one apricot rose, Polka. I like apricot roses a lot too, but it seems to me they tend to be more on the tender side.

Agree that Polka is NOT hardy, it died after 2 winters in my zone 5a in heavy clay. But Carding Mill lives forever.

Carding Mill is my most favorite orange rose for constant blooming & scent & bush beauty as 11th-year own root in my zone 5a. Below orange is Carding Mill, blooms well in hot & dry. Leftmost is Crown Princess Magareta (more yellow in hot summer).

Like potato chips you can't just have one! Love those azaleas, hills covered with poppies, closeups of butterflies and whatever bug that is on one of yours, Magpie. At this time of year gardeners' minds seem to turn to flowers like a flower turns to the light. I am spending a lot of time looking at nursery sites, seed catalogs, clematis but am not buying any roses so far. Lots of seeds, some clems, some lilies. Want to order plants from Annie's Annuals but it's too cold still.

Orange Kitty who just showed up one night and slept under the hay feeder with baby goats and then just kinda stayed and adopted them.

sjn, that pic of Shooting Star with the sunset behind is extraordinary, and sweet about the kitty. The colours of Miss November are amazing. I have a double white, but the blooms go a horrible muddy colour as they age.

I love orange in the garden and I always think I should have more of it. The rose ’Lady Emma Hamilton’ is right now my favorite Austin creation for beauty of color, scent and foliage:

Below is a young plant of miniature rose ’Electric Lady’ grown indoors in a 5 inch pot under lights last year. It surprised me by being a truly smaller version of ’Fragrant Cloud’ with the same powerful (almost pungent) scent and perhaps better color:

Beautiful pictures everyone! I don’t really have much orange planted in my garden but I do have these lovely wild flame azaleas growing here on our property in the NC mountains. They are about 8-10 feet tall and scattered throughout our woods.

Most fav. and disease-resistant rose in my garden is Christopher Marlowe, a 12th-year own root, leaves are always healthy even in a super-humid rooting bin. Scent is wonderfully posh, a combo of rose & musk and lemon. So unique and enchanting:

Titan, thank you :) The kitty stayed and became one of our barn cats. He helps eat up the field mice that try get into the hay/feed in the barn. He still snuggles with the goats rather than the other cats.

Miss November is an Alice Harris brugmansia hybrid. I love its curly tendrils.

NOID that is possibly Sammy Russel. It did not translate well but is burnt orange in person.
