You need to post pictures and a budget

get a quote. refacing [costly] should be compared to replacing. if you cant replace then maybe wait until you can. 34 year old cabinets might be due for complete removal. anything you do that costs that much should be considered as giving another many years in life to the cabinets in your space.......the value may not compute ..storage capacity / layout and other things that are not worth extending the time that the cabinets would sit there.
