I would assume you have an alarm system? You can have a door sensor installed for a garage door, so if someone did manage to get in through your garage it would set off the alarm immediately. Used to live in LA most of the break-ins were through french door in the back yard (out of sight) and second floor balconies (they figured out most people skipped installing window and motion sensors for the second floor).

@Joanna Joannabusiness1! - Ours has a keypad (optional) and an inside button. It is also wireless onto the phone so it can be operated remotely or use monitored. We have a battery-pac which will operate should power fail. Yes, there is a disconnect should a mechanical issue occur. Any LiftMaster garage door source would be able to install. Another benefit is removal of all the mid-garage aparatus.

Windows in an overhead garage door is not just about breaking in through that door - I would guess that hardly ever happens. It is more about scoping the stuff in the garage (like a C7 Corvette), or noticing when a car is in there or seeing the light on, or the light turn off from the delay so you know the door just shut. Depending on the type of crime, a criminal may want you to be home or away.
