Changing the wall color would improve the look. Current color definitely crushes with the floor.

I have a greige color in my home called Balboa Mist from Benjamin Moore. I love it because it definitely picks up the warm tones in the house. I know white is also making a comeback, that may look nice too.

I would use a light green color, or a very light aqua color.

I have Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray and it works well with my wood tones.

Congratulations on your new house! Agree that the wall color is off from the cabinets and floor. I can see why they picked it because it works with the backsplash and countertops. So you could pick something more beige/peachy to work with the cabinets and floor, but then it may not work with the backsplash and countertops. Since you are thinking about future upgrades, maybe you live with it while you come up with a master plan for the kitchen.

there's nothing wrong with the current wall color. the two white doors need a little more attention. painting a door can be fun with the results you can get / maybe new handles/ two of them means a nice opportunity. then consider walls when it s needed and you can coordinate. Agree that the wall color is the odd-man-out. It was probably freshly painted before the house went on the market with the trendy gray, without a thought as to how it blended with the rest of the room.

I like the deep olive sample above. It looks good with the cabinets and the floor too.

Check out SW Quiver Tan. If it looks too dark to you, have them lighten it 15 or 20%. It's kind of a griege/taupe that leans slightly green. It might look good with your backsplash and I love it with all types of wood.

Benjamin Moore Maritime White is a perfect greige with warm undertones that will look good with your cabinets. We painted our kitchen that color for an inbetween phase. A few years later when we renovated the entire kitchen, we liked the color so much we decided to do the walls and new cabinets in Maritime White. I would paint your trim, ceiling, and walls that color.

What I really liked about the green colours is how they picked up the green in your trees outside. and created a nice cohesive inside/outside look.

As you mentioned, changing the appliances in a couple years will make a big difference. I vote for stainless.

I like the maritime white suggestion as well - i love the Olive but feel like a darker color might chop up the room a bit (I tend to like darker colors when there is a lot of consistent wall and you can get a cocooning effect)

Some sage green to light olive green would be pretty. I was going to suggest cream but the floor and backsplash are too similar, so just fing a mid-tone green that sings to you.

I like the first green that @Kelly Jones posted. It's not too dark, it's lively and it looks nice with all the other elements in the kitchen including the black appliances.

I change my mind. When I see the renderings with the green, I like the colors, but suddenly what jumps out at me are the different heights of the cabinets vs the doors. It's awful! I think now it is safer to hide the differences by using the same colors on the doors as the walls. Decorate with green, just not the walls.

Or put green on the blank wall only.

Or maybe find a wallpaper for the big blank wall with no doors. Something with olive greens and silver and cream.

Maybe instead of going whole hog, leave the walls as is, since they work nicely with the backsplash. Try olive green and or area rugs/runners and some other decore. See how you like it before committing to an entirely green kitchen. What does the adjoining space look like? Are there natural breaks so it would be easy to make an accent wall? If not, that current wall color may be the best.

Other than the black appliances, I think it looks fine as is.

We had used the color sea salt from sherwin williams with our oak cabinets and beige flooring. after painting we changed out our light fixture and cabinet knobs to update the room which isnt shown in this picture

I think the black appliances are ok too, considering the black counters.

I’d test some samples in the space. What jumps out to me is your backsplash and it’s silvery tones. The wall color seems to harmonize with that so I actually think it’s ok as is for now. What you plan to do with the large wall where the pot rack is (which should be removed IMO) where I’d put my brainpower if I were you.
