Yes I'm keeping the comforter. I was thinking about painting a soft pure white.

The artwork is interesting, but I think it becomes too much with your bedding ... your eyes keep going up and down between the two patterns. I would remove them and keep the focus on the pretty bedding.

I find you have too many competing colours in same proportions (blue & red). I would paint the walls a white like the background of your quilt (a warm white of off-white) and introduce that same colour in bed sheets so that the print or your quilt is highlighted. The prints you have above the bed also compete with the bedspread. I chose a beach scene in tones of blue.

I chose below the blue as the coordinating colour (could be done in another colour in your bedspread).

I would go with warm off-white .
