I do not understand why yhe logs can't be painted but IMO doing the hardie siding black could work with the natural logs .As for the interior I have no clue but from what I see it does not look like wedding venue to me so maye explain what you are planning there . IMO you need to decide what you will do with this building. I can see weddings in the covered area and milling around on the grounds but only in fair weather. So where do you live? IMO a wedding venue is a far cry from a vaction rental so maybe explain a bit more about your plan. I will say skulls on the wall are not a great idea for either. The last pic is painted logs BTW. I think vaction rentals are sometimes not a great idea but that is just me. I think the idea of weddings if you live where it is warm most of the year would be great but a lot of work on the exterior to make it really awesome.

Gonna need SERIOUS landscaping work to make it a wedding venue.

A place down the road from me is a rental like this. Nice big house with a decent yard. Been a few weddings there. I don't know much about the interior other than it's a few bedrooms and bathrooms. It's probably nice for a small wedding party to stay in and the wedding in the yard. The yard itself has nice features. Couple few acres. Some wide open mowed lawn, a little bushy and tree action around the borders. A game court/walking aisle with lighting. A couple little outbuildings. Big ole firepit with seating around it. A really nice setup of decks, pool, outdoor grilling, screened porch setup built off the house. With good parking, I've seen 25 or so cars lined up there.

I would recommend a light color for the top siding. Warm in tone, not straight white. That roof is big and dominating, even if it wasn't green. Ain't no way to hide it- embrace it. Pull it down the colums into the landscaping. Get in landscaping. Plan in outdoor electric setup- people will want to set up tents, do catering, have lighting and music, ect. If you can plan in extras like decks, a pool, a great space (s) for ceremony set ups, photo ops. If there isn't one, you are going to need an outbuilding to store things. Depending on what size venue you are willing or able to have there, you might need to plan in space for temporary bathrooms or dumpster action.

If you haven't done so already, find out what your local ordiances and such are about both rentals and venues.

Thank you all! The wedding venue will be onsite and will look like the picture I had of the venue above. It will have restrooms and a bridal suite. Landscaping is going to be done and chairs around the perimeter of the porch. Lighting etc will be added.

I would like to paint the roof , the window frames and the columns, along with the front door in black magic and the hardiplank a cream white- the logs would stay that same brown that they are.. thoughts?

I suggest something like SW Iron Ore for the trim and the paintable top section and front door and white for all windows. You can also install large black sconces at the front door. On the porch, it would be nice to see some chairs and planters. I would also suggest to enlarge the columns, they look skinny.

Some questions to ask before you pick up a paintbrush: are you going for a more modern look, timeless, cabin/rustic, or some combination of those styles? From your inspiration board, it looks like a transitional, rustic, and modern cabin. If you can’t paint your bottom logs, can you paint/replace the windows with black windows? Maybe paint the front doors to be charcoal or black, with gold hardware.

Of course, as a wedding venue you want to be able to adjust some of the elements of the space to meet the style and aesthetic of the wedding. So choosing anything too bold and permanent likely won’t be a good choice. Stick with neutral vibes for permanent (or not easily changed) features, like paint, flooring etc.
