Unless you're moving to a more contemporary style and this is the first change, no it doesn't fit.

I find it unattractive and the size is off, but if you like the style and the piece, then it could just be a matter of taste. It also looks like the J-box is in an odd location, like it should be more centered on the doors and more to the right.

The stairs and railings look contemporary but your other furnishings and color choices seem more farmhouse or vintage leaning. How do you describe your style and what is the furniture like in the adjoining spaces?

I am trying to modernize/refresh the look a bit! This is a new light in the dining area and I will be painting all the chairs black

These are the new wall sconces going up the stairs and in the main room. I chose them to work with the new dining light.

Why not select light fixtures that match the sconces you just purchased?

I don’t think it fits the style currently, but if you’re going for more modern in near future, I think it will look right. You could do for something a bit longer if you wanted to add drama.

lowish ceiling whats the height? Yes it looks off, its nice but off. chandelier is a no go stuck to the ceiling, semi flush is best. maby black isnt the answer, alot going on with the staircase.

no to that light. it doesn't go w/anything in the entry.

I like this light Bergamot. I gave you soft blue doors, a plant, and you need a rug w/some life! (and something thinner) All the beautiful rugs avail and you have that oversized plain beige one.

this farmhouse style has a soft sage green door, some board and batten, hanger knobs, and a slightly modern light. This looks good because everything plays well

either of these consoles might look better than that bench you have

if you really want to modernize, think of doing the staircase like this, and the floor tile is also cool. you don't need a rug w/this

you want modern farmhouse? copy this. your light would go better w/everything done in this picture

I would get something that matches your hallway lights and new table chandelier - keep some continuity to your eclectic look.
