If you want the screws to fit in the new crossbar, you can just tap new holes. Not having a die & tap set, you can drill them bigger and install an (automotive) U-style spring nut clip. However, I have a hunch that the whole fixture is not supported by 2 screws into the side of the canopy cover. I would expect the threaded center rod should extend up into the crossbar to hold it. So you would need to buy another one to combine with the one that the canopy screws into.

A 32 screws.take it to a hardware store. you are missing part of the strap, the part that attaches it to the junction box.

Thanks to both of you! From doing a little digging online, I found a photo of what the bracket should look like for this brand. It does look a bit stronger than the one I have.
