I'm not familiar with how HMI builds their steel doors, but it's likely some trim will have to be removed, probably from the inside. Who installed the door? I would expect that a new door should be under warranty and this should not have to be your problem to fix. Why don't you post a couple of pictures here of the problem and details of the trim to see if there is anything else that can be said?

Its under warranty and the company who installed it did a great job so I’m sure they’ll resolve it. I’m just stressing about how much of the door will need to be taken apart to fix it. Here’s a pic from the inside, it looks like there’s metal trim around the glass and then a trim piece around the whole sidelight. Thanks!

That trim may just snap in place. Ideally, they'll be able to pop it off, replace the insulated glass unit, and push the trim back on. Don't stress. When they are done, it should look just as good.
