Tile decisions

I can’t decide which tile to use in my sunroom. We are keeping the pine wood floors, the room has pine built ins and a pine ceiling. We are replacing the tile on the stairs and the area that leads to the doorway what do you think of these? I am also open to suggestion, thanks!

is there anything w/a bit more black to them? I kind of like the middle tile (no to the far right one) but it might be a little too blue gray. anything w/more charcoal to it?

what's the width of that area you have to replace?

As a suggestion, I'd also recommend painting over that yellow. it really doesn't work w/the pine.

    Number 2!

The width is about 3 feet.

I’m thinking to paint the walls a brighter white color.

so those tile you're looking at 12x24? that's good. you'll only have to slice off a small portion on the 3rd tile.

the lighter tile seems to have the golden tones in it. maybe grab a box of them and lay them out next to each other to see how it looks.

make sure you get the specs on grout spacing and tile layout (usually no more than 1/3rd offset) Take a look at stacked layout (all even lines)

Thanks, Beth! I also have these 2 darker ones, middle is the one tou likes from above. yes, these are 12x24 tiles.

are these porcelain? the matte charcoal one w/the white veins could be nice.

to be sure, I'd get at least 6-10 of them and lay them out.

I like the one on the far left in the second set of choices. I think that's the one Beth H was referring to also. I have warm wood floors (somewhat orangy) in my house also and put a medium gray tile in my master bath a year ago and the two look fine together. If you want to move toward gray the lighter grays are less appealing with the wood, but the one on the far right looks too dark. When you go to repaint don't use a cool white, make sure it has a little warmth so it doesn't fight with the wood floors.

Yes, they are porcelain. Thanks, I’ll have to

    get some more samples.

Would the dark tile with the veins be ok with the color of my built in cushions? I don’t want to redo them. I had them done not too long ago and used sunbrella fabric so i dont wnt to replave it. I agree about the white not being a cool shade. thanks

Something like this and get rid of those yellow walls.

Oh wow! That looks so nice. Thank you!

would you do a solid tile then no vein?

I like the dark one with veigning posted above on the left. The solid dark gray illustration looks too modern for the space- to me.

I like the solid grey or the veiny one you could tie the white paint to.

If you are keeping the cushions and blinds, I would pick the middle one in both pictures and paint the room a light colour from the tile.

Im keeping the cushions. The blinds i will probably change to white. I have white shades on the windows.

Why select a tile with veining? Every finish doesn't have to be embellished. Keep it simple.
