porcelain wood tile in shower?

I’m wondering if porcelain wood tiles in showers are becoming dated? We are completely remodeling our primary bath. The shower will be 5’x4’ with 8’ high ceilings. I’m all over the place on design options, not sure if I’m wanting to go with a ‘wow’ factor of large format onyx tiles, or place it ‘safe’ with a porcelain wood look tile on the 5’ wall, and a blue tile on the 4’ wall. Inspiration pic below (will be doing the niche like this pic…so shower head wall would be the blue wall. Pic of our wood tile, possible blue tile and shower floor tile (the 2x2) included as well. Is this wood look going out of style?

Don't saunas have wood walls? My regular suburban house has porcelain wood tile floor in the front hall. It's obviously NOT wood just like Joys' walls will be.

I didn't know this look was ever popular in a shower so I have no idea if it is dated. My shower was redone about 2000.

Tile that's supposed to look like wood, on a wall, and in a shower is not a way to "play it safe." If it was ever in style, it's long past its pull date. What is safe is using a non-fake-looking, classic material, like porcelain tiles.
