Master Bathroom Floorplan

Looking for suggestions to redo our master bathroom floorplan approximately

10’ x 12 ‘ 6”. There are multiple issues and I'd love a spa like feel (like everyone else). I've included the floorplan of the existing layout (measurements are approximate). This will be such a huge project and I don't want to mess it up. Thank you so much!

Pain Points:

  1. We do not use the tub so that will be removed.
  2. Master bed faces the bathroom door and I find the reflection of the mirror uneasy. Would prefer the shower or cabinets in the current vanity area.
  3. 31” barn door opening to be replaced with regular door
  4. Husband is 6’7” and I am 5’ 4”. Husband would like counter to be 42” and I would prefer the standard height.
  5. Would prefer a water closet if possible.
  6. Shower and bathroom floors are freezing since duct is near doorway.

Can windows or doorways be moved?

what is the size of the master closet.

is that a 44 inch wall with the heat source and light switches. How much of that 44 inch wall protrudes into the bathroom?

    Thanks for asking.

    Windows

The window probably won't be moved as we are already replacing the windows prior to beginning this project and it's too late to change that.

    Doors

The door into the bathroom could be moved. The door into the master closet, if moved, would reduce the amount have storage in the walk in closet.

    Closet

Isn't huge, but works well for us.

    Vent and Light Switch

36" of the 44" wall protrudes into the bathroom.

    I hope this helps.

I like toilet rooms, but I think it might be better to have a door to to the bathroom for privacy.

You could remove the barn door and just leave it open to the hallway between the bath and closet or add a door for light control. A linen closet would give you lots of storage outside the bathroom.

You could do two separate vanities, one taller near the window.

Adding a toilet room to your layout would block some of the window light, unless you were able to cut the 36 inch wall back by about a foot.

Thank you for the suggestion. I hadn't thought of making the entry more of a hallway, but I think that might make the bathroom smaller and less "master bathroom".

I hate the barn door that is currently on our bathroom (noisy, no lock and no privacy!) and can't wait to have a real door on it!

I like the commode swapped with the shower since it provides more privacy and is how it actually was on the original floor plan...not sure why they changed it. I realize there might not be room to have an actual water closet.

Wondering what the best way would be to transition the two different height vanities and still have it look nice; I love the long sleek countertops, but I also want my husband to be happy.

    Thanks again.
