Floor plan with dimensions would help you get advice. From that one pic no one can see what else you have or any context for sizing.

Functional could be using the space for hanging pans, lids, strainers, ect. Arranged well. Murphy table art- when it's up it's art on the wall. But if you need extra table, you can murphy it down. A breakfront, hutch, buffet, and so on sort of furniture that can serve as storage, potential service space, and so on. If that curtain to the right is a door- would you like or have a need for a bench there to sit down to take on/off shoes or other outdoor things? Do you have pets that it could be a good area for feeding, or a cat tree, or dog bed?

if you have some budgeted money a built in banquette against the wall w a slender /small table and a couple smallish chairs.....seems it would get used along w stools at the counter ..... people can pick their spots and for longer sessions w computers it might be more comfortable. I like the recess in the wall...thats good for even a modest built in banquette.

the older I get the less interested in TV I become. At the same time TV/streaming/movies/ etc seems more pervasive than ever. If there is viewing in the family room I would relish the seating against the wall as its near the kitchen/ has a view out the window/ you can focus on TV if you want but you would be sitting a bit apart from the viewing area so you can tune it out to a degree and sit with someone there and talk. You have to figure out your household and individual needs.
