We are building a new house and I need to select hardware for the exterior doors. I want to use keyless entry on at least two doors (one to main level and one to basement). I am of the belief that a deadbolt should require key or code on inside as well as outside, otherwise once someone enters, they can just throw the knob and open the door for easy access (or removal of property as the case may be). I haven't run across a keyless system which requires key or code on inside. I'm also wondering if the keyless system should be used in the main position or deadbolt position. Would love to hear what configurations others have used.
