We are replacing the carpet in our upstairs bedrooms next month. We are doing a 60lb texture carpet. It’s pretty simple.

Have you considered having hardwood installed just on the landing? We did that about five years ago and it’s soooo much easier to keep clean. I feel like it really updates things while not giving up the carpet in the bedrooms.

And I like the carpet you shared

I had no dog, but had Berber type in the upstairs of my home, previous owners. The seams frayed a bit with just walking around and things (boots, moving furniture etc) caught on the carpet causing “runs” and pulls. It was only 4 years old but we replaced with a plusher frieze. We noticed that the house was quieter with a thicker carpet.
