Wanting to update this bathtub and not sure what would be the best option. It is a unique size garden tub that is 40" wide, so I really don't want to rip it out, unless I have to.

The easiest option is to have the tub and shower panels professionally painted white, but I am not sure how well that paint will hold up over time.

Another idea is to paint the tub and install a newer shower panel over the existing panel like Wilsonart Wet Wall shower panel or maybe there is an equivalent less expensive option.

Last and most work option would be to replace the tub with a 30" or 32" tub (which means moving the plumbing), but still install Wilsonart Wet Wall panel so I don't have to bust out all the walls in order to install new CBU and ceramic tile. I would still have to deal with the odd angle shelf, so maybe keep that the same.
