Thank you. My sister said the same thing -- that the glass tile is too busy next to countertop. If the conter is white and grays, do you think going with a white or gray tile would be a better choice?

Sorry, but those glass tiles are really outdated. If you had a lakehouse or cottage at the beach, I'd say, "maybe", but you'd need to go full on coastal.

If you want the glass tile, I suggest you pick a less busy looking countertop.

Lunada Bay will cost you more (but you don't have a large space) but the glass is 100X better looking than the cheap stuff at HD.

Doing this solid white would look pretty but still give you the same glass effect you like.

Have you considered Cambria Berwyn? it has the very light blue tones in it

they have the Nabi Harlequin (at home depot its IvyHill Delphi) in this soft blue. with a diff countertop, this would be very pretty

It does come in a white or gray if you want to use your present countertop choice.

I might be open to repainting but probably not because i like this color. It makes me happy and I have an open floor plan and have the same blue color throughout most of my house

If you were to repaint, what color would you choose? Would you match it to a color in the countertop.

I live in a beach town in Florida . I'm definitely leaning toward more coastal, or bright and light.

I'm clueless to the latest design trends.

I am likely stuck with the Everest quartz. We are definitely open to higher quality tile options and don't mind spending for the right tile .

The counter and the tile cannot both be busy. Since the counter if a given, you have to tone down your backsplash selection. No escaping this.

I lean more to white vs gray tile. Beth H posted some nice suggestions. Notice the texture in her posted picture. It had depth to the tile.

dont underestimate how great a really good quallity white ceramic tile can look w your choices. you could tweak the grout color a bit for some interest. your choices w the counter/ nice blue walls w white cabs are lookin good so far. I think i'd go more w white ceramic tile. here's w blue walls/white cabs....maybe it's the simplicity.....it just has a nice feel about it.

My husband is intalling the kitchen himself. So far, so good. I like the idea of good quality white ceramic tile. It might be the best way to go. Beth H., and other commenters above, turned me on to Ivy Hill and other brands so I will definitneitely go with high quality since I don't have a lot of space to cover.

I have this arch and my walls have these rounded edges. We will follow the natural backsplash area from countertop to bottom of cabinet. On the ohter side of the photo the counter ends and there is a refrigerator .

This is a pic of my before kitchen. Nothing changed as far as layout in any major way.

Lori, order some samples, but please wait until the countertop is installed before deciding. you need to see how it looks in your kitchen w/the colors.

I like your blue wall. However, as you'll see in the many pictures I've posted below, the countertop and the wall color don't really work well together. It's possible it could if you went w/a black/gray tile. More on that later.

I've posted a slew of pics. The ones w/the blue accents are meant for a diff countertop. Everest won't work w/the blue coastal design I've mocked up.

this is a ceramic, but I like the herringbone. if you did a solid color (Like that Gray glass one I showed you from Oceanside) you could do this layout. This granite is busier than your quartz, but the solid color herringbone design looks great!

You could also do a marble tile like shown in both of these pics

wood cutting boards are great for decor items.

If you want to go w/the blue, I think you're going to have change your countertop. I don't see any of this working w/your Everest.

let me show you some other accessory options if you want to go a coastal blue theme

here are 4 pendant options. can't see your kitchen so I don't know if you have an island a peninsula or can use one over your sink.

You can see some of the blue tile colors that work w/your wall.

I like a soft gold w/the blues and even your countertop. If you want the nickel, switch to the one I have pictured above. (koofizo or Cosmas on amazon)

cosmas in the gold, which if going w/blue and white, I'd use.

The woven/loom chair w/natural wood, the blue chinoserie vase (which looks great w/some sort of walnut or wood cutting board)

see this walnut bowl? that color wood.

Notice the solid white quartz.

here's another coastal type of pendant in blue glass. imagine this w/that white quartz above, and some of the other accessories below.

Imagine a runner in this pattern. or, use this color/pattern as curtains, or line the back of a cabinet w/it. have any open shelves? use this on the wall behind it.

Here's a coastal style w/woven pendants, blue island. look at everything else around it.

If you changed your countertops to more of a white, or even a marble-look quartz, you could do any of this:

check into the Zellige tiles. Riad tile, Cle'Tile. they would fit in w/the coastal type of look and have great colors

This is a weathered white. see how the natural oak shelves bring in some warmth?

If you must keep the Everest, they I would lose the blue wall and do a warm gray/taupe, see below.

another option w/your countertop is black or a very dark gray/charcoal. (you don't have to pick the arabesque shape, I'm just showing you how the black/white look w/your counterotp)

I mocked up your countertops w/the black arabesque, white grout, black hardware and the gray woven pendant. Beachy/coastal doesn't have to be blue. A black zellige tile in the herringbone or the stacked set layout would look so good w/the Everest.

that combo would look great w/one of these colors on the wall, white trim, and some wood accents

Look at this Everest, and then look at the kitchen elements in the next pic:

This tonal range: taupes/blacks/warm grays/ natural wood/ gold, etc.

Yes, we are installing backsplash tile last -- after the countertops are installed. I like the Everest quartz a lot. In the store it looks very cool toned and we thought our cool blue-gray paint color would be okay with it. If I could do it again I might have chosen a different paint color and/or different counter. The blue Behr Offshore Mist color is throughout our entire house, which is an open floorplan, The kitchen has no real delienation as it opens into the entry and there is an arch that overlooks the open dining/living area. If I painted the kitchen a different color from the entry (which leads into the living room and shares a giant main wall) it would stick out since we have these curved/rounded walls. If the walls were straight I might be able to have a different kitchen color without it looking weird. I had two different paint colors previously and I disliked the transition. So, I'm stuck with the blue for a while since we just painted (and when I say we I mean my husband and there is no way he would be open to repainting at this juncture, lol). When we paint again I will pick a more complimentary color.

Right now, we are leaning toward Ivy Hill white polished ceramic tile for the backsplash since it will go with the counter and work with a different paint color down the road.

I do not agree at all that your counter and wall don't work well together. Your blue gray wall is a nice change from the "black and white photo" look that has dominated kitchens for quite awhile. I think it's a lovely backdrop for your counter and works well with its gray tones.

I also think a white tile is a good choice. A rounded fishscale shape might be a pretty counterpoint to your kitchen's angles and beach location or a small square might be an idea.
