Coastal home carpeting

Hi! I’m looking for some help with choosing carpeting for our beach house great room, hallway and bedrooms. We have a four bedroom condo that is all one floor. We do have hardwood in the dining area and kitchen but I like carpets in the other areas. It helps with noise which is nice when others are sleeping. I want a low pile carpet that has a beachy feel to it. I also need something that will hold up in the high traffic areas. There will be occassional stays with babies and dogs also. I’ve been told nylon is a good choice. I love the Masland carpets but we are covering a very large area and looking for something similar that may have a better price point since our home is only used about 4 months out of the year. I appreciate any thoughts or advice you can send my way! ☀️🏝️🌊

In a recent beach house refurbishing, I decided on the synthetic sisal that I saw in a five star resort nearby. I found it in all different patterns. It came in a 12’ width and any “length” I wanted. It could be surge bound OR bound with canvas like a natural sisal. I love it and now have it in my living and dining rooms, and two bedrooms, including my Master. On hardwood floors. I far prefer it to natural sisal. It is easier to clean. And wears like iron. No spots show on it. Yes, it requires a pad. It can be vacuumed and scrubbed. And because it can be cut to order, you can get the size you want. I had mine surged, not bound with canvas. Less chance for stains and spots.

Masland carpet is wonderful, but I have another idea for you. Look into Stanton Anywhere. It's an indoor/outdoor rug, comes off the bolt at 13'. Lots of colors/patterns and very beachy, but a bit more sophisticated. It is the 13' that is the issue, however. The carpet can't be seamed, unlike wool or nylon. So if your rooms are wider than 13', it won't work for you. Examples, and I am using this site only to show you what is available in any showroom that carries Stanton.

Thank you but yes width is over 13’.

IMO wall to wall carpet anywhere near water is just a place lloking for mold to grow. Get some nice area rugs you can roll up and take with you or at least srore tem somewhere less humid.

We are replacing carpets that have been down for about 9 years and do not have any mold issues with them.
