Best to go to your local pro, bring photos or best a door from your built ins and then bring samples home. Avoid LVP and your pro will advise if solid 3/4 or engineered is better based on your existing conditions (slab vs basement/crawl, under door space, etc.)

Monarch Plank Wide plank engineered hardwood flooring in European Oak and Walnut (monarchplank.com) is another example of light European and French oak flooring. Many sources are available for these species of oak. It's denser without as open grain as domestic white and red oak.

The picture you showed, and your description is Rift sawn white oak. It has beautiful straight grains. I don't remember Monarch has a collection in prefinished version. Does it come in unfiniished?

You just described wood look tile if you want something "anti scratch". All wood floors will scratch. You would be surprised the abuse that people do to them, and expect them to stand up to that.

That product comes unfinished. If you zoom in on the planks, you'll see some are flat cut. French Oak Quercus robur is denser without the same open grain of domestic white/red oaks. That's why flat cut can be used successfully for another look. Preserving that light shade and non-yellow color after finishing and over time is a goal. I'd like o have the answer. Prime Grade French oak unfinished engineered hardwood flooring - monarchplank Monarch lists Bona® UV Urethane as the finish for the Domaine II and La Grande series. Water based finishes are getting away from the warm yellow oil finishes have created in the past.
