Kitchen Reno - need help w/Kitchen Sink choice: white or stainless?

New Kitchen will have white shaker cabinets, white with gray veining countertops, Brass hardware/faucet. Stainless appliances. I can't decide on whether I'd like a white sink or a stainless one. I've seen that people do both options - I'm worried that the stainless sink would "clash" with the brass faucet, or the white would be too boring. the sink will be in an island. This is an early graphic showing the lay out (again, the faucet will be brass).

any thoughts on pros/cons?

I've always had white sinks. I think stainless vs. white is simply personal preference. Either will work in your kitchen.

I would never have a white sink no matter what. Why not keep the brass for the cabinets do a nice stainless sink ideally one large deep bowl with a nice stainless faucet no clashing .Why the over hang in front of the fridge . IMO brass for the pulls and knobs is like jewellery and the sink not so much .

I prefer stainless sinks. match with everything, durable, easy to keep clean. hopefully it’s just the weird perspective but that aisle looks way to narrow.

I too prefer stainless, but for the softness factor... they give a bit when you drop something into them.

I would never put a sink in a beautiful island... dirty dishes are too unsightly, even a coffee cup and spoon. a complete waste of a beautiful slab of stone.

I love the look of a white sink, but I like the carefree aspects of a stainless sink. With a stainless steel sink you don't have to worry about chipping or crazing, wine/coffee stains, or pouring boiling water into it. Also, a sink grid is a necessity with a white sink, but a sink grid is personal preference with a stainless sink. Certainly a white sink is prettier, but me, my lifestyle is that I can't be worried about my sink, or for that matter my counters or appliances. So it's up to you what is your personality.

I also agree with @Patricia Colwell Consulting that if you choose a stainless steel sink, get a stainless steel (or polished chrome) faucet. You don't have to match the faucet with your hardware, and you will have stainless steel appliances in any case.

If you want to emphasize the brass finish on the hardware, your island stools can have legs in a brass finish (just google "counter stools brass" and you will see a lot of choices).

A Blanco sink is another choice. There are many available colors and styles. I chose a dark gray for my kitchen.

I have a white farmhouse sink and I love it! I also have a stainless steel grid on the bottom to protect it, so make sure to buy one of those no matter which sink you choose.

White will definitely look better with your brass faucets. Maybe the photos I’ll help.
