What kind of problems are you having with them?

    Slow shipments and non communication.…

it seems many suppliers are slow this year esp. those in Texas.

Tornados in North Texas were damaging.

COMMUNICATION!!! will always make problems forgivable even with impatient gardeners. If the only realized how we anticipated the deliveries and stalk our emails for

    messages concerning them.

Have you tried calling on the phone? I have had a lot of success in the past doing that when I was not able to get emails back.

Yeah, sometimes a phone call can work since it requires the person to actually address you immediately-that is, IF they answer their phone,lol...

Well here goes gonna try ONE more phone call today!

yes Jac … I tried calling and emailing several times before posting. Certain I will eventually get them, it is just frustrating. Guess I unload here so won’t be nasty on phone. No one likes a grumpy ole lady esp. the ole lady.😣

I had great luck on the phone with them. The receptionist is new, and is learning the ropes still. I called after hours (oops) and left a voicemail and it was returned the next day! The receptionist also mentioned that aside from the storms and damage to their property, they've been very understaffed and unable to hire

more help. That seems to be common now days… I got my shipping notification just the day before last, so hopefully you will too!

I believe Chamblee’s recently moved to a new city and changed owners so they are likely dealing with a lot right now. But yes communication is key.

I have ordered from Chamblee's roses in Texas before and was very pleased with their roses. I ordered in March and did not get my roses, 2 for $120. I'm aware of the tornado but you cannot contact anybody!!!! from this company. I've attempted to call many times and left many messages. I got a hold of someone once who informed of the tornado and said my order was going to be expedited. Still have not been refunded or gotten roses. I just want my money back and sadly will never order from them again!!!

My experience matches that of the previous poster. Ordered in March for April shipment, and as of today, have not received either my roses or a refund. I have also called (always goes to email) and left messages (never returned). E-mail requests through the Contact Page on their website have also been ignored. I agree---never again!

What a shame that people are having such hassles. I'd ordered from them in the past but have to say that the lineup of roses they have now was somewhat disappointing since they seem to have significantly fewer of the old roses I love. I suppose they must offer what sells most easily and quickly, but I'm grateful that there are still a few companies out there who do have the roses I love the most

I came back to gw to see if anyone had gotten their jalbert roses yet from them . i was told mine would be expeditied but yet that was a month ago and still no roses . i really wanted those roses but i think ill ask paypal to reverse the charges . what a bummer

Chamblee's is a family business. Mark Chamblee, the original owner had his nursery in Tyler, TX. He sold the business upon retiring to another family who moved it to Winona, TX. They retained the Chamblee name for their nursery...name recognition evidently.

I was a Tyler location mail order customer for years, and am a Winona location customer these days.

The quality has been about the same. Very good to average. The new owners discontinued their free shipping for orders over about 5 roses. Right now they are neck and neck, final order bill total, with Roses Unlimited and Antique Rose Emporium. Although ARE sells 2 gal. roses, their roses in two gallon pots can really be 1 gal. size plants, or smaller. 2 gal. does not always mean a bush that has reached its potential 2 gal. size.

I have received less than gallon size plants growing in gallon size pots from both old and new Chamblee's. When de-potted, the potting soil would fall away revealing a quart or less sized root system bush, but upon in ground planting, I can't recall a failed bush. They usually kicked in and thrived.

Texas has its generous helping of catastrophic weather events. A tornado can level a building in just a flash while the building across the street barely had its American flag hanging outside even flutter during the twister.

Considering that Chamblee's survived the Corona Virus is a wonder. So many mom and pop businesses around me closed and did not reopen that it is a heart breaking sight to walk up and down my little old Italian neighborhood. Generational mom and pop businesses are gone forever.

I advise all you Chambee's customers that have late orders to be as patient as possible. Texans are a cut above, character wise, and either roses or refunds will be forthcoming. Please, give them time to fulfill their obligations. The delays indicate dire straits being experienced.

    Hi Moses,

Just to be clear…the Winona based family has sold the business again. Chamblees now belongs to the same folks that run One Love based in Dallas, as noted below.

    Ben,

What?...another owner? When will this avalanche of new ownerships slow down? It's becoming so outrageously commonplace that its not unusual for a shoe manufacturer be bought by a cosmetic manufacturer, then be sold to a tropical fish food manufacturer!

    Thanks for the heads up.

Both Chamblees and Antique Rose Emporium changed hands this year.
