We just got quartzite counter tops ...can anyone suggest the best maintenance for this material? What to seal and clean it with?

Generally the fabricator will have provided a sealing as part of the process. If not use a water asked granite/natural stone sealer. Pour it on, wipe off, let it dry - done for a few years.

Hi Suzmue; if you are still involved in discussions can you tell me how you are caring for your quartzite counter? I just had one installed and I love it but now a little worried about stains and maintenance.

All we have ever used is perfect granite...our quartzite counters definitely has had marks left on it....but they are easily cleaned off with the perfect granite...even if they have been sitting for a few days

Thank you so much for your comment. I just love the quartzite counter but now that I'm putting it in have heard it stains easily. Have you had any problems with staining? I cook alot and we serve wine (red) as well to guests.

Hi Suzmue and others who were so nice to comment on my questions while I was in the midst of my kitchen project. I'm still working on getting the tolerances fixed on the doors but it's not as much of an issue now that we are complete. Here's a photo that my husband took - quartzite counter and white cabinetry. I absolutely love the quartzite. I'm also just loving thhe cabinetry hardware from Italy. It's unique and beautiful.

Where did you get your stools from...I want to get new ones for my kitchen and can't find any I like

I bought them about 15 years ago at a furniture store. My dining room chairs match but are low. My husband loves them and says they are comfortable as we eat casual dinners at the counter. I'm going to have the seats redone with either red or royal blue leather for a pop of color in the room.

quartz needs no sealer and is virtually maintenance free... As is my understanding. bu there may be some sun issues... best to talk with fabricator, they should have given you some info/warranty?
