appliance brand

We’re buying all new appliances and I’m stuck on them being all the same brand. My husband on the other hand doesn’t mind if they are different. It would be easier to hand pick from different brands, but I personally like everything being the same and cohesive in a sense. Thoughts??

No need to box yourself in to a single brand for everything. Appliances from different brands can work perfectly cohesively together. Unless you're trying to pick an almond color or somethere, where each brand's may be different (and will make replacement down the road a headache), just pick the best brand for your needs for each appliance. Stainless will match stainless ... black will match black ... the rest of the kitchen will bring everything together and create your cohesive look regardless of what brand badge the appliances might have. We've always had mixed brands of appliances, and none of them has ever looked out of place. It also gives you freedom when replacing something down the road.

Not one single appliance in my kitchen is the same brand. I would never buy one brand for everything. I chose based on features, reviews and price. I've got a Bluestar range, Vent-a-hood range hood, Electrolux warming drawer, Bosch dishwasher and LG fridge. It all looks fine and cohesive. No single brand makes the best of everything or will have the features you want on everything.

One brand dooms you to having at least one crappy appliance, a couple of meh ones, and 1 good one.

As long as the appliances are all the same color. I have all stainless steel: GE Fridge, LG dishwasher, Samsung gas range. I picked them for their function, all had great reviews. I am happy with my purchases years later.

Thank you for the replies! I guess my husband is right haha. I’m limiting our selections by trying to stick with the same brand.

If your friends, the people you want to nourish and entertain, are so hung up on the brand of your appliances, you need less shallow friends. My daughter loves her six burner Wolf, but I adore my six burner Thermador. She has a Sub Z, but I prefer my GE with water and ice thru the door.

It’s not about friends it’s about my personal preference which is to have all of the same brand. Doesn’t matter what brand but I’d like the same throughout for cohesiveness, same color, handle etc.

If your preference is form over function and it won't bother you that you may end up with a few crappy appliances then just go with the brand that looks the nicest to you.
