Need help with entrance stairs/rails

1923 Milwaukee Bungalow. At minimum, the top set of steps needs to be replaced (crumbling) and upper and lower handrails are needed. I have a guy who will install a nice set of cast steps, but I do not care for the (only) handrail he offers.

Should I go for the cast steps (bottom photo)? If not, then what?

What handrails would you recommend? I lean toward something with cleaner lines, compatible with the Belgard retaining wall/flower beds.

Can I /should I keep the remaining steps and walk? Is there a reasonable way to tidy them up?

I would like a platform outside the front door, but that doesn't seem possible given the incline.

All thoughts appreciated!

Dig a bit deeper. There are precast steps that look more natural like stone.

You might be able to go over what you have.

I don't like the fake gray stone on the retaining walls. It doesn't complement what little I can see of the house.

I would select a minimal wrought iron handrail for this installation.

You might be able to purchase it online and have it installed

Part of my walkway has a cement (stone look) pre cast cement.

wow! I had no idea there was so much variety available in precast! Thank you both! Alas, the retaining walls stay, though I see your point.

No one is telling you to take the retaining walls down, but you should be aware that they are faced with a precast veneer. If you did around you may find the structure of the retaining walls is concrete block or poured concrete. The face of the wall can be changed out or limewashed over.

No law says you can't get someone else to do the handrails .
