The Home Depot quoted me $2700 for installation of basement/stairs. Here was the quote.

I'm a bit hesitant to go through the HD but I'm afraid the cost from carpet store in town will be a lot more. Is this a quality carpet?

To compare, you need to know the material, density, twist and weight. Carpet is often a problematic choice for a basement due to moisture, obvious or not.
