It certainly could be Liberty. I am wondering how old it is? The leaves look small compared to Paul’s Glory….but that could be its immaturity. It would be helpful if you could take some measurements, leaf size, vein count (not definitive tho), size of the yellow leaf edge…..my reluctance is that it looks smaller than PG and it should be very large when mature. Also, it seems yellow should be wider…..but again that could be immaturity.

for some reason a google photo search on the other brings up a mish mosh of hosta.

For me Paul’s Glory shows more blue, although comparing photos in the HL, their are photos where they look very similar in color. They are about the same size. In sun, Gold Standard will develop very pale yellow, almost parchment colored leaves. Not sure PG does that. To me your photo above looks like Gold Standard.

Now back to hosta one, Ken mentioned Wide Brim, I have two. With maturity it gets very puckered and the flower heads tend to be large. So those are things to watch for.

That might not be Paul's Glory. Paul's Glory is a very striking plant. ( I just looked at my old photos and, if I filed them right, mine looked like your's when young.) This is mature.

This is late in the season when Paul's Glory has lost it's blue wax, so it's more green than blue.

Carolina Girl, your first question about the yellow edged hosta - could it be Blazing Saddles? BS is a Tony Avent hosta. He's in NC and develops hosta for warmer climates. The photos in the library show it to be almost a white edge, but that is later in the season. I made a point of ordering several of his hosta this season (also Mary Chastain's Lakeside line). Mine is new. I just received it a few weeks ago and it looks similar to yours.

First photo is my Bedazzled next to a young, small Paul’s Glory. Second is my 1-2 years older, larger Paul’s Glory. For PG, the margins widen with age. My MIL has 2 PG’s, each about 5 years old and getting big. Hers have wider margins, bigger leaves, and more quilted corrugation.
