It is a form of Aloe vera. Maybe it is a variegated form. There is more than one form of that species that is variegated. Some might call it Aloe vera ’Variegata Striata’, but I have never seen that name and it is not hoticulturally correct. You might see names that are confusing as there is no authority to rule on correctness.

Aloe striata is a distinct and different species. There is another species named A. striatula. Neither looks like Aloe vera.

@iochroma Right, it was clear to me the naming was probably wrong, and the photos of Striata are clearly a different plant.

@BlueberryBundtcake - 6a/5b MA Stress on an Aloe means nothing. Those plants bounce back to an extreme state of robustness very easily, once you give them the right soil and amount of watering.

I'm aware that they can survive all sorts of things, my point was that color may be affected, thus causing it not to match than of a happy plant. I hope the online store selling that is acknowledging that it is not in good condition and pricing accordingly ...

I can see the stripes - that looks cool. I didn't know aloe vera could do that.

It looks like it's had too much sun and not enough water....
