Hi Teri, Thank you for your interest in our project! In this situation our owners knew the risk of possible water damage over time, and know to be careful when washing and cleaning. They don't have children in the house and felt confident they could keep it dry. Normally we would install a small backsplash made of the same material as the countertop and apply a bead of clear silicone where the two stones meet to keep water from getting underneath. How does the sink on the right get any light? The cabinet looks like a chimney.
Why wasn’t it painted a lighter color-if the client wanted it no matter what?
What about an acrylic cabinet or frosted cabinet?

Deb Morrison - There are recessed lights in the ceiling, which provide plenty of light in the room, along with additional lighting over each mirror. The tall blue storage cabinet is exactly what our client wanted for additional storage. Contrasting cabinetry is not everyone's preference, and our client loves the look of their new bathroom.
