More proof COLOR is an incredibly personal choice for fixed elements. Glad you got what you wanted..sorry for the $$$$$$ that's just insane what the previous people had. The next owners will only have to paint the uppers to make it cohesive and work for them.

This looks great! The upper cabinets are so nice. Just wondering, since the upper cabs are so nice, why you didn't make them taller to the ceiling instead of adding the soffit?

@M Miller it's two levels of cabinets on top. The top are deeper, "seasonal" storage cabinets. I should have taken the picture with the main lights on to better show the cabinets.

did you use an interior designer or kitchen designer?

I used a kitchen design firm, Arete European Kitchens in Austin. I had a good idea of what I wanted and they helped me realize and refine it. They did a great job in both the design and install.
