What a beautiful color. I like the combination of the buds with the fully open flowers. Good luck with all the crosses you make with the pollen.

Mine is long gone but yours brought back fond memories, Kim. The open flowers do rather remind me of dahlias.

Apparently, under those cool, damp conditions, the yellow usually hidden within the flower, at the base of each petal, expands to manifest over the whole petal. When growing it, I had seen "yellow-ish" flowers on Jesse's strong lookalike, "Westside Road Cream Tea", but not to that extent. On the other hand, I'm more inland, don't get that kind of prolonged coolness.

I thought Jesse and WRCT were likely the same. I'm having a cool Spring. It will be interesting to see what Jesse looks like this year.
