Some ideas are:

- paint the wall behind your bed

- put mirrors behind your night tables

- put some art above your bed

- add some decorative pillows

- put a throw at end of bed

- add a long bench at the foot of the bed

Thanks for the suggestions! Love those accent pillows but having a hard time sourcing something like that (has to be available online because I live in a small town). Should the art work be that big?

You can put together smaller pieces of art, like a trio or a gallery wall. Drapery panels flanking your blinds would help soften the space.

I like calm bedrooms and I agree that adding curtains and art is all this room needs.

I would add as already mentioned, art above the bed, drapes and a bolster or lumbar accent pillow on the bed.

Needs contrast - I think a white duvet cover might look nice. All the mid tones are causing the ‘blah’ and the duvet cover isn’t showing your beautiful bed in its best light.

Any suggestions for a lumbar pillow and curtains?

First, center the rug, then position the bed.

The rug is too big, so add a bench at the bottom of the bed.

Paint the walls a different color

Add window treatments.

Replace ceiling light with a chandelier.

You could pick almost any other color to use for accents because what you have now is very neutral. Painting that wall behind your bed is also a great idea - lots of impact with little cost and effort.

Tried a lighter comforter but now sure ai like it!

I like the darker one in the 2nd photo, the light colored duvet just looks washed out. From what I can tell of your colors, looks like cream, navy and grey going on. I saw this one below on the Pottery Barn site, the texture looks interesting. I think you're heading in the right direction. Consider looking for a couple pieces of artwork, like 2 squares that could go above the headboard and have a pop of color in them, like burnt orange, or woodsy appeal. And a nice storage benchseat at the bottom of the bed would fill the space nicely. I am jealous you have those nice storage units in the wall, very nice.

I can see some pops of rust or orange working with what you have. Just for an idea in terms of using some rust in the space. I also like the goldish accent. They help bring in some warmth into the gray, white and cooler colors.
