Are the cabinets painted now? If they are, I would consider having them painted black or gray and add hardware. If they are not painted, I would just add hardware. Go with a simple backsplash. I like the floor. I like the walls white, add art and it will bring in lots of color.

Is it your home or a rental? If it’s a rental, don’t paint the cabinets- they won’t hold up to rental abuse.

Current pics would be helpful since those are warm cabinets and you mention a new gray wood floor so that seems like a difficult tone match. A medium, classic brown floor would've made it easier to coordinate your next choices since the gray wood trend in flooring has seen its day. If you're selling soon, most pros on here advise just clean and declutter and price accordingly for older fixtures like cabinets/counters that the next buyer may well opt to gut.

I would paint the cabinets blue and add hardware. inwould also add some wall arts ass well.

Whether the intent is to modernize for yourself or “flip it” to make make as much profit as possible, I would update it….if the cabinets are good quality I would see if you could replace the doors and paint them white. White is timeless. Add hardware to all the cabinets/drawers. Make sure the sizing of the hardware is correct - use painters tape to see what the different size hardware would look like on each cabinet/drawer.
Change the countertops to something relatively inexpensive. Check Home Depot/Lowe’s. There are amazing quartz-like countertops that are white and would have a color from your floor flowing through it. Change the sink to a stainless steel sink with a new faucet.

Re: lighting I would change the overhead fluorescent light. I would also put strip lighting under the cabinets. That creates a softer glow, and warmth in the kitchen.

Unless you’re a pro, amateur painting of cabinets does not go well; brush marks, shadows, etc. I agree that, if they are in decent condition, leave them alone. I also agree that a gray floor is not the best choice with the warm-toned existing cabinets. It’s too bad people think gray is a neutral that goes with anything. This is a pet peeve of mine.

Any number of changes could be made - to suit your taste, or based on a speculative idea of what others want.

Spending a bunch of money speculating what a buyer wants is a fool's errand.

Right now your kitchen is clean, decluttered, reasonably up to date, and 100% ready to use.

Have you factored the cost of each potential change you might do, against the gain it may yield in sale price?

My take is, the changes are not worth the time, trouble or money.

If you can hire a professional painter for a better finish, do it. Maybe paint the lower cabinets to blend right in with the countertops, and the upper cabinets white to create a feeling of space? And then a valance with a kind of strong pattern that brings in the blue over the window. Alternatively, if you could afford it, keep the cabinets as they are, but swap in some kind of countertop that pulls in both the warm wood tone and the new gray of the flooring.

Its a nice kitchen, I wouldnt paint the cabinets. I would add hardware to them. What your room, really needs is accessories in a color. Maybe add some more blue, since you have blue counters. You seem to have a lot of blank wall space. Some nice art would look nice, and some accessories on the counters. Right now, it looks like a kitchen, that has no personality and is un used.

I know you are hearing that your grey floors dont work with your cabinets. I have

white oak cabinets and grey concrete tile. The cabinets were washed with a light gray stain to tone down the yellow. l love the look. Just a thought.

I would not paint the cabinets. As others have said, getting a good finish is difficult. And they look fine, a little hardware would give them some bling.
I would consider painting the walls a soft blue, but if you're selling soon, white is safer as a neutral. I would look at replacing what looks like a light box for lighting with something with more personality. That would add some character.

The brown cabinets and grey counter CLASH horribly! Go will all warm colors or with cool. Paint the cabinets white and use a mostly white counter like Marble or imitation marble. Stay away from trendy greys - going out of style (thankfully) fast. Add color on your walls and backsplash - stay within your cool OR warm color tones - a pastel blue, yellow, green, or pink.

as you stated you are selling - so id leave the basics as is - itd clean and nice. consider adding hardware to the cabinets try black to play off the window framing - then add accent pieces that tie in the blue black warm wood already in place - just a touch keep it clean for showing. Good Luck !

If this is a rental, I'd leave it alone. If you must change something, just paint the cabinets white and call it a day.

What style is the rest of the house? If it leans modern then I would leave this the way it is. As others have said, find some fun accessories (your wood bowl and fruit are already on the right track) and play into the fun modern angle. I would be happy to find a rental with that kitchen!

If you are planning to sell soon, i would not invest a lot of money in a renovation. i would replace the light fixture . Add color to the space with art work on the walls and perhaps add hardware to the cabinet doors, It is a nice atractive room. If you spend money on repainting or replacing the cabinets , the buyer may not like your choices , same with backsplash amd countertop. It is an attractive and functional looking kitchen.

The statement that warm and cool colors cannot be combined is wholly untrue, as evidenced in several photos posted above. (Obviously you want to combine colors/times carefully.)

Are the current cabinets painted or stained wood?  If wood I would not paint them.  Natural wood tones are back.  I'd add some matte black hardware and replace the faucet.  Also try to fix the cabinet door in the second photo.   These simple changes should go a long way.
