Foundation bed help

I’d love some help with vision and ideas. We are in zone 6b in Kansas. Facing our house, the left side has a new oakleaf hydrangea and boxwoods in front that I cut back to rejuvenate as they were overgrown and woody. This area gets part shade with a couple hours of morning sun.

The long stretch in front of the porch currently has four pancake arborvitae planted last fall (18”h x 36” w max growth) and a miniature viburnum. That area gets part sun - about 5 hours midday. There are two little Henry itea and a little quick fire hydrangea wrapping around the side of the porch. This area gets almost full sun.

My questions are - are the arborvitae right for this space as they are? Should I swap them for small boxwoods with a little more height and continuity with what’s already there on the left side? I like having evergreens closest to the house and would like to put drift roses, sedum and short ornamental grass in front to fill out the bed. Open to any suggestions for design and plants! Thank you.
