Is there going to be a table in that nook? If there is, I would skip the pendants over the peninsula and hang an amazing fixture over the table.

@chispa no, the area is not quite big enough for even a small table….I was thinking of maybe a built in window seat though and floating shelves on the left and right wall.

Something about the placement is throwing me off. seems like one is close to the wall and they seem shifted to the right. Im not sure you need pendants here..moreover because they are in a space that will not be seen from any other angle, and it over looks an area that sounds more like a reading nook? they are not centered to the

@RL Relocation…yeah it’s a bit of an awkward set up with the space behind not being big enough for a table … but big enough for some extra sitting and moving around space. The lights are centered from the edge of the counter to the wall because it’s a peninsula. Not centered above the drawers. That must be what’s throwing you off? If I didn’t do pendants what would you suggest? Just more recessed lights? I do like the ones you posted on the photo, it do you think the placement makes it look bad? Thank you

Here's what I say. Pendants are easy to install. I would first round out the area behind so you can get a better picture of what the space will look like finished. My thought.. could you go back and add a center light to that small nook area? if not can you move those outlets? they should have been centered to the drawers and the total length is actually more apart of the longer side of the peninsula

. and if they remain, a cute semi flush light or recessed.

Yes I see what you’re saying. Maybe it was what was tripping me up as well. I do really really like the last lights you show…the semi flush ones. Are they a certain brand? I appreciate your help thank you!

Those semi flush where really expensive, you could probably find something similar for less, an maybe a bit smaller.

I do really believe you need to square away the nook area. maybe post a picture and or drawing of the scale.

These are about 12” diameter. Perhaps you could use the third one as a reading lamp in your window seat?

Do you have room for a bench with a back as you mentioned and a coffee table?

Skip the floating shelves and put a small hutch there to display your favorite dishes. In front of the window, a couple of leather chairs and an end table in between would be nice. Think a cozy space to drink coffee or wine.

Its not big enough for stools and chairs. Get stools that slide under the overhang.

Absolutely love this built in idea! Do you think using the white oak would look nice? I do like the white though too. The only problem is we have a heating register…hard to see in photos bc we took the cover off to replace

It’s right under the window. I think there is a way to built in a vent to allow heat to still flow. But if I did cabinets I don’t think I could put a vent
