Have you had samples at home so you could look at them next to everything else you'll have in the rooms you're doing? I don't know how much online pictures are going to help you. What matters most is how it looks in your house next to your stuff.

@kandrewspa Yes, I have samples, but let's face it, the samples are kind of a joke. A little 2' x 3' section from the flooring store doesn't exactly give a full feel for what it will look like or the variances among all the planks. Though to your point, I've certainly taken samples home that looked one way at the show room and then in the lighting of my house had a very different tone. I have a general idea of what color will work in our space. I just wanted to see a full room with Southampton laid down to see if it looks streaky or busy and also to hear from people what their experience has been. I'm having a hard time finding much discussion of it online so was really hoping I could get some help here.

Buy a box of the flooring and lay it out in the space.

wondering if you decided to put down the southampton oak? I too am considering this flooring for my entire first floor. wondering too how durable it is. I have a golden retriever and worry about scratches.
