Much too far away to get any detail. Lots of trees have yellow fall foliage. A fair number even have yellow foliage during the growing season as well.

I suppose a better question is, what’s a bright yellow fall foliage tree that is going to stay about the size of a Japanese maple and doesn’t have invasive roots… other than Sango Kaku?

Thinking maybe it’s a variety of honey locust… but I’m pretty sure those are monsters. Unless there’s a variety that behaves in the 20 ft range.

whenever you want plant suggestions... your big city location is requisite... because in this case the G can grow faster in warmer areas ...

btw.. that tree is planted about 10 to 15 feet to close to the house.. it makes a pretty picture... but shouldnt really be planted there ...

it was too small for the first decade.. and in a few years.. it will e taller than the house.. and look our of proportion. to me anyway.. fwtw.. lol ..

established tree... have a annual growth rate.. and they will continue to grow at that rate until you or ir dies.. there is no height at which it magically stops growing.. like 20 ft ...

How did you come to that conclusion? Neither the form nor the coloring look much like a Parrotia.

I sent an instagram message to the landscape architect and they responded.

I am not convinced. This is what the fall color looks like on a Parrotia - not a solid yellow.

And they typically have a very irregular shape.

Parrot is varies per plant. Some are red and some are yellow. It’s related to witch hazel so the dominant color is yellow. This variety is a “spire”.

Yes but can’t you shape and prune a ginkgo to control? A neighbor of mine has a Saratoga variety and has maintained it at a rounded shape for 20+ years. It’s probably about 20 foot tall and wide.
