I've determined it's slugs, but I have Sluggo all around the the plants--in 3 different areas of the ornamental garden, and they're still climbing up and eating the young leaves. Only the Silene regia in all the ornamental gardens is being eaten and furthermore, I use Sluggo regularly with good results in my veggie garden.
I'm at my wits end. Today I plan to pull the wood chip mulch away from the plants and cover the ground with Sluggo. Any other ideas? If I sprayed with a mix of water and hot sauce, would that help? Do slugs taste hot sauce?
