I like the bee pollen daylily. Do you think as your season progresses you may see more rebloom since some of your daylilis did not send up as many scapes as you would normally see?

Beautiful rose, Kate. I think my favorite of all the daylilies is your bee pollen one. I do hope you get rebloom. I can't tell at this point if cooler weather has affected bud count. I don't think it has affected scapes though. I really enjoy seeing your blooms now though!

i agree. The Bee pollen on is a winner. I suspect Spacecoast Co9lor Scheme will eimprove with later blooms. The 2nd year cross shows a lot od potential to be a beauty. That frost was a real stinker, wasn't it?

The Bee Pollen daylily with its two perfect blooms is my favorite again. I agree with Brad. That bee is a top-notch hybridizer! I like the blue eye on Geometric Wizard, and Mandolin is nice with its soft colors and ruffles. It' a shame about your short scapes and low bud counts. I hope your mids will fare better. I've noticed my extra early ones have very poor bud counts and some fans with no scapes. Kiss of Paradise appears to have only 3 buds per scape, and it usually has at least 10 or 12. I don't think I'll have blooms down in the foliage, but the early scapes looki like they're going to be shorter than usual.

Your shrub roses must be very happy since they've spread so well.

I too like the bee pollen flower--such rich color. Some maintain that it's not worth growing seeds from bee pods, but that seedling proves them wrong. I also love Thomas Tew and Geometric Wizard. I keep looking for scapes on our Geo. Wizard (it's usually a fairly early one), but haven't seen any yet.

Boy that rose really loves you. Do you deadhead all those spent blooms? One of the things I dreaded come hot summer was deadheading all the spent rose blooms..........Just caught on to the Bee Pollen daylily name. I thought it was the registered name. Now I understand it's how it was created - by a visiting bee pollinating a daylily. It sure is a pretty one. Clean as a whistle, with no blotching at all. Hi Kate! I really hope G-6 will rebloom for me this summer because I think it will be fun seeing what it will look like in my garden. The plants you sent are finally starting to do something now that our weather has finally warmed up. All that cold kept them in limbo. Get ready because a big (and I mean HUGE) box of daylilies is going out tomorrow, headed your way. I hope you will have time to plant all those daylilies!! You will be very, very busy! I like the pink seedling because of the color and the nice pie-crust edges. I know it will improve and I think you will love it.

Thanks all for looking and comments. To your questions: Julia, I don’t know if any more than usual rebloom will show. I think the scapes were frozen in formation if that makes sense. Bud count has been so low on early bloomers-sometimes only one or two buds.

Maryl, no way do I deadhead those roses! They mostly self shed and bloom in flushes until frost. These were my 1.00 clearance buys and boy have they flourished!!

Celeste, I hope all those bloom for you! Gee Six reblooms for me so maybe it will do the same for you! Fingers crossed for at least one bloom for pollen! I am looking forward to the pink seedling improving-it is teally pretty!
