I only saw them at a plant nursery. Looked good in pink but note it produces lacecap form blooms, not mophead form blooms. Double florets at the edge of the blooms with a few florets in the middle sometimes/most times/can't remember now... For those with bee allergies, not recommended as it can attract pollinators; stick with mopheads if you can. Additional back up flower buds on the stems may help ensure bloomage if late frosts partially zap the stems. Reblooms and the color can be adjusted with aluminum and acidic soil.

Snapped a pic for the thread

Pretty 😍

Update: Seems to be a good/fast performer, blooming-wise. Heard from someone in the Cape whose Can Do lost all the old growth over winter but is currently already growing blooms on the new growth.

ROASTED - Maybe Can Do is just spent due to it being bloomed up at time of purchase.

Both are in same siting and well watered.

Smaller Root System in the Sky View since it was a 1G acquisition.

Can Do - a full 5G rootball

Anyhow, Sky View still Humming Along but Can Do is roasted

I just cleaned up Can Do. Mainly because I spied a new brocolli . As I went poking and tugging on exisiting spent blooms, looks like brocolli has formed on old wood on the next subset of leaves below this years bloom. How Kewel is that.

I ended up deadheading minus 2 weaker blooms with thinner sidestems that have no signs of new growth below. Heh, maybe in another week I might see brocolli on these

For anyone looking at Can Do, new fresh blooming buds on Old Wood in mid Summer is kinda a extra bonus to get refreshed blooms

This is abour about 10 days after deadheading

Well, it's late August....Labor day is on the horizon and I'm thinking about Thanksgiving already. Sky view deadheaded to see if I could duplicate it hasn't developed any signs of brocolli ......since I do have currently a 2nd round flush with Can Do.

I'll update this thread I guess in June of next year should Sky View exhibits a 2nd flush like this year...

My Lets Dance Can Do! has a lot of new flowers coming along, but the reason I am commenting today is the fall foliage color, a very nice dark burgundy, that I suspect will be getting better over the coming weeks.

Any updates regarding your "Can Do"?

My plant looks terrible due to climate extremes, but its trying hard to flower heavily. It was hit by several freezes in spring which eliminated all of the terminal flower buds. Then our recent week-long heatwave put it into a permanent wilt no matter how much water I throw at it. It is covered with purple flowers but they are dwarfed, wilted and sagging. The foliage is also very small and bronze, none of the rich green that you expect on most macs.

Seems like a reliable bloomer up here in MN, but agree that it is not very sun or heat tolerant.

Thanks for the update guys.

I noticed this variety for the first time yesterday and it was quite eye catching. So of course I picked one up ;) and because of your recent experiences I planted it in a more shady spot than I might have considered...an experiment.
