Kitchen Reno Colors- Help!!!

last modified: 3 years ago

Hello!

I am in the middle of a major kitchen reno and struggling with all the colors in the kitchen. I have concerns about the cabinets and countertops we picked out. The cabinets are finished so there is no changing those, countertops are picked out but not cut so there's still time to change if needed.

I didn't want an all white kitchen so we're doing a medium wood island and creamy white cabinets. I'm now concerned that I'm screwed by the creamy white cabinets :( The cabinets and island are definitely warm tone, and the countertop slab we chose is definitely cool, although has some creamy and brown specks within it. Picture of cabinets and slab (ignore the granite sample with the cabinets) below.

We want natural stone- no quartz. We loved some Quartzite slabs but they were double our budget. We also didn't want to do any granite like a brown fantasy because it's so busy.

I also wanted to try and pull in some color through the tile- want to try and stay away from white subway. Additionally, we need to figure out the wall and trim colors. The kitchen is now going to go into a living room and hallway so the colors will need to be the same throughout, however, the living room and kitchen are separated by a beam and door in the hallway so we could potentially do a different color in the living room.

I've included a picture of my "design board" so you can get a sense of what I have so far. Note that the lights pictured and tile have not been purchased, they're more there so I can just get a sense of things. Floor color has not been been chosen but that's the color we're leaning towards. The doors and windows are ordered, they're black as shown.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. But also, don't say that I should've done XYZ before, because I can't go back and I need to work with what I have. Thank you SO much!
