Not dislike, and not love either. I think the top looks beautiful, but the first 2 photos are teeny-tiny, so I can't make out any other details.

It looks like a beautiful table but in the pics it seems like there was something square stored on the center and the wood around it faded?

I’d buy it and put a something in the center to distract from the color difference, if there is truly a color difference.

Unless you want to refinish it, which I think would be hard, IMHO the discoloration makes it unacceptable. It also seems too low for the chairs?

When new, definitely not cheap. The top is a marvel of woodworking. Think of the process to produce that pattern. It is a wow! I couldn't tell, but I thought the center circular pattern was intentional. I do see a square shaped darkened area. That could have happened if it sat for long period in strong light while a squarish piece laid on it.

The centre is a lovely inlaid flower but the discolouration people are talking about is a large square of darker wood centred on the table and covering a large part of the top. It looks like a previous owner always had a square cloth there (possibly with a vase of flowers etc) and the uncovered parts of the top have bleached a bit in the light.

The discoloration on the top is enough for me to give it a hard "no".

If the shape of the top were a simple squircle, I would like it much better. I do not like the squared protrusions above the legs - they interfere with the overall shape and help contribute to the clunky look. However, they do seem to go with the outfit that I see at the top of the second photo, and so there is that.

I think the proportions of the legs are off, but I cannot see the fourth photo. They give the table a very heavy look, but if you are going to have heavy, oversized furniture with it, that could be less of a problem. The top would have to be refinished regardless.

I do love the floral pattern in the center. I'm not sure why anyone would have wanted to cover that up.

mtnrdredux.....I like the table...but I'm thinking ....maybe....something more casual....? Maybe a seagrass woven round table...or a wood and metal industrial look....? So....it's maybe not a matter of disliking it...but...could I do better with what's available out there. Your right about the table height....it looks too low....

The first table is very formal and handsome but the discoloration and the 4 squared - almost look like handles - detract. I really like the woven seagrass hough - it's a great look.

without seeing the rest of your room, I'd prefer a table that doesn'r require bending down. Something more at elbow level.

That was my first thought. Whatever it looks like, it's too low for those high-seated chairs.

Lovely top- too bad about the fading on it. I think it would need to be restored or mostly covered to use it. I don't think the base suits the chairs. I would pass on it.

It certainly doesn't look cheap. It's a beautiful table but really needs the right setting. Doesn't read "bedroom" to me, and it seems too dense and heavy for the chairs. I do like the idea of something taller put between the chairs. You have great luck finding things so I'm sure you'll get something that just right.

Tbh, the table looks like the kind of table i see in the resale shops. And, your chairs call for something more refined. and yes, something taller between the chairs will work better. Then you can maybe add an ottoman.

I somehow missed the part about it being for a bedroom sitting area - I agree with those opinions that it seems too large, not appropriate for that.

It would be a hard pass for me with the discoloration on top. It does look very low to me as well, but I'm used to a taller round coffee table. In fact, when we first got our coffee table, it took me awhile to adjust to the fact that it was not as low as I thought it would be compared to our sofa and chairs. Now I wouldn't want to be stooping down to make use of it. I think you should keep looking.

My vote is you can do better.

I don’t like it for your room, for all the reasons others have stated.

If you could get it refinished it would be lovely somewhere. However, it is enormous. Your bedroom would have to be very large to accomodate it.

A better arrangement moght be a smaller table between the two chairs and ottomans for one or both.

Mtn, I have that Beverly rattan side table in a blue wash.. it is the perfect size and style for something casual.

I think it is nice, but not sure for you. I also think even as nice as it looks The price is more then I would pay .

Definitely does not look cheap, but appeals to certain (past) taste in furniture style that isn't mine.

I wonder if the finish could be refreshed instead of a full stripping/ redo to overcome the fading.

I can't tell if it is too big, since some people have bedrooms as large as my entire 1st floor LOL, but it does seem too low.

A HUGE table...that DH can put a pillow on to prop his feet up on...with room left over for a book/laptop/candles/cup of tea.... would solve it all. OR....If I pull the drawer out on the little table between the chairs...maybe I can put everything in the drawer while I sit there....hhhhhhmmmmm......a work around.

I do think they're asking too much for the table in it's current "needy" condition.

@colleenoz...we have "2" cats. Meet Aspen. They stick pretty close. I try to have furniture that can accomodate us...and them. Neither cat will sit on our laps...so I try to have enough furniture to seat ALL of us.

My son and his wife bought a house that had furnishigs that look much like this and they bought them with the house. I think that they are all too big and heavy and dark and dont like them at all.

There is indeed an inlaid design but I am thinking the rectangular discolored area does not seem to be part of the inlay. I can certainly see that such a large table might have utility, but unless you go through the considerable expense of refinishing, the discoloration IMHO detracts from its beauty. In any case, you are the queen of fabulous buys, and I am sure you will find tables galore for a song that would be useful and gorgeous without further work.
