Yes! I wanted silver for the floor but didn't want to wait for stock to arrive. White would just fade away I think on the white subway tiles.

White or light gray. Looks great!

I wouldn't change anything anymore. Your kitchen already looks wonderful.

Stay with a light color keep the kitchen feeling sterile. I would not be a fan of grey but of an off white. The darker colors will fee dirty.

Light grey. Don't want too much contrast with the tiles.

HI -- You could go several ways with the grout it all depends on how much you want the tiles to show up and how busy you want the backsplash to be . With a black grout to go with the cabinets, it would look interesting and each tile would be highlighted and maybe too busy for you . The grey it would be less busy but each tile would still be highlighted . With the white it would all read as one clean modern pattern . Now if you wanted it to be funky and cool and not minding the busy pattern , you could use a metallic silver or a red or any accent color . I have a red grout with my blue/grey tiles and I always get compliments .

I just used a grey deep grey grout on a light grey subway backsplash. I love the look!!

Thank you everyone for all of your great thoughts. We spent all of last week until Sunday night working on that house. It's 200 plus miles away. We finished the porcelain floor and the subway tile late on Sunday. My huge regret is that I let my husband talk me out of buying grey grout! He said it would point out all of our imperfections in the tiling. I thought we did a careful and good job of it. He is a flaming perfectionist! Anyway, we went with the white grout and the entire wall looks like a white painted wall now. No texture at all. This was our big chance to do something interesting since we had the black cabinets and lovely elegant floor and I let him blow it! O.K. My rant is over...moving on... :) On to the baseboards and hooking up the sink, dishwasher, icemaker and cooktop.

Don't be too stressed about it. The white grout does look good. You can accent with the gray/silver through canisters, etc.

I think BathGems called it right, recommending an off white grout for just a hint of definition around the tile. But if I had to choose only between gray and white I'd say your husband made the right choice. It will be more timeless, and suits your modern kitchen better than the more old-fashioned look of white subway tile with gray grout.

Only white. Even though gray is very "now". It looks dingy to me

WHITE GROUT--MATCH TILE

I have white tile with a light almond grout in my kitchen, on the backsplash, which I will be replacing. It always looks dirty and dingy to me.

It's very expensive, but I've been happy with the diamond glass epoxy grout...especially on walls.

Nothing dark... too many lines for such a small grouted area. I'd say wait for the silver or go with a pale gray. A pale taupe would be okay. White will eventually look dingy.

I would keep it light. You have a lot of dark going on there.

White or grey

Go with white, it's clean, simple and black and white classic.

It looks beautiful and I was thinking the palest of silver greys until I saw how much tile you actually have running up to the ceiling. White is classic and if you picture how busy that could be . . . the white is lovely.

I like the idea of white grout in this section of the kitchen. Agree with Lauren - it's a cleaner, simplified look.

I concur, with such a large wall of tile the white was the best choice. It's looking fabulous.

Again, thank you for all of your ideas on the wall grout. We will keep the wallhegrout white. We did use frost on the floor tiles. On the color chart it looked like a light grey but it dried to white as well. We are considering using a darker colorant on it. We should do it before we seal it and before we start using th e floor. People seem happy with the results.

White was thte right decision on the subway tile grout. The grout should match the tile as closely as possible, for the most modern look. It's not the job of the grout to make the statement that the tile is supposed to make. The grout is there to permit the tile to be appreciated.
The newest tile from Italy and Spain has extremely thin grout lines for this reason.
