The center fixture is not throwing anything off. It is perfectly functional and the eye glazes over these types of things and moves on to something more interesting.

If you want a statement piece, the example shown is not the one. Mainly because it only has one light bulb and would not do its job...which is to provide light for the chef lol. it also does not have any glass so it looks rather bare next to the pendants.

Do the pendants have a matching ceiling fixture? Sometimes manufacturers do this. That would be nice.

What if I went with something more simple to make the eye focus on the more details like the hood and the backsplash that will reach the ceiling

The Florez needs to be in clear glass instead of frosted. it will complement the pendants even more.

For me, that light fixture is not throwing off enough light, specially for a kitchen. I would remove it and add several recessed lights in the space (with dimmers).

If recessed lights are an option for your budget, those would be a better option to provide more light. The space is looking great!

I would like to finish this project already. And not spend any more money on recess lights. Especially after the fact of closing off the ceiling where the pendants are now and having to tell my contractor to open it back up. We are so close to getting the counters installed. So I’ve decided to spray paint the current one black since it’s actually oil rubbed bronze to see if I feel different about it. I also agree with it being glass instead of frosted now but the rest of the house has frosted light fixtures and ceiling fan light shades. All frosted. My goal is to make a cohesiveness to the house.

I think painting the base black is all you need. It's a bright light and a classic shape that doesn't stand out and doesn't offend. :) Looks like you have undercabinet lights as well. I think you are good on lighting!

I would absolutely hate a clear shade there; the frosted throws the light evenly and you don't have to have pretty bulbs. (To cast the needed light, you need BRIGHT bulbs, too, and a clear shade is pretty unpleasant with high lumens.)

Dilemma solved. Keep the one you have. You have frosted glass elsewhere so that's good. Spray the base black.

You guys are awesome thanks for the help! Although I did purchase something to see if the styles go better because I am just that much of an over thinker. Try this new one out? Or stick to the current and paint the base black? Also like the new light bc it’s offered in a cool white and not a warm white like the current one which I feel makes the cabinet white look more off white

Just realized it’s similar to the Florez one I posted. Ok going to stop analyzing now before I drive my contractor crazy!
