Me and my five buddies run an e-commerce store and we're looking for ways to update our marketing efforts. We have a good website, do so-so in SERPs, and also govern a handful of profiles on several social media sites. We keep on pumping content around our niche daily, though the results aren't quite up to snuff...

We want to invest in some smart ways to collect customer data and devise better plans to reach out deeper into the market. I've heard that personalized campaigns help in that regard, but honestly, I got no clue how to put that method into effect. I'm aware that people use CRM apps for such needs, so, can anyone recommend one from personal experience? Anything with a free-trial option would be of real help! Thanks!
