OOOH, wow! Nice bright post. I like your doubles. I don't have a lot, some just look messy to me, but I love these. My favorite is To Got Be the Glory, and knowing it is a big flower makes me want it even more!

To God be the Glory seems like a good choice for pots. Big flowers on medium-sized scapes. A Carpenter evergreen I see.

I love your doubles! I have a few and would add more if I had room. They just add more contrast to the garden. God be the Glory is a favorite today. So glad you posted today!

Happy to see your season beginning. These are bright in your face kind of flowers I like! To God be the Glory looks like my kind as well-big, round, and flat. How gorgeous. And I do like your Orchids and Gold. Love that edge! The doubles are nice. I have a few but rarely post them. I am glad to see yours.

Orchids and Gold always looks so pretty for you! To God Be the Glory looks perfect. At 8.5 inches it must be amazing in person. It looks like Muy Caliente is going to be sunfast for you. That's one of Nan's, isn't it? I hope you get your new keyboard soon, so posting isn't so difficult for you.

Kay: Abstract Orange is normally a single, but it made such a pretty double on its ffo this year, that I posted it.......Nancy: I agree that many doubles have inconsistent form and can look "messy". Personally, I like the "carnation" look for a double as opposed to the hose in hose type. Dutch Yellow Truffle is one of the best for keeping that fuller "carnation" form............Mantis: You got it on To God Be the Glory being pot worthy. It's not a slackard growth wise but not overly vigorous either, so that works out well for a pot. Being evergreen it overwinters in my garage.....Kate: On Orchids and Gold that edge just makes me swoon. Glad you like it too....Debra: Yesterday To God Be The Glory put out two blooms next to each other. I think I took a picture, but not sure. It was a knockout in person. Muy Caliente is indeed Nans. I use Burning Inheritance to judge the sunfastness of all my oranges, and Muy Caliente comes very close and the form on MC is fancier. The only thing I've found with it versus Burning Inheritance is the blotching. Burning Inheritance seldom blotches - but then it doesn't have fancy edges either.......................Maryl

Orchids and Gold is lovely. We grew it here and although we loved the flower, the plant didn't do so well for us. I also like To God Be the Glory. I am glad Muy Caliente! is proving to be fairly sunfast for you. I hope the splotchiness goes away.

Muy Caliente is a trooper so far. I don't know which daylilies you used to hybridize this level of sunfastness in my hot climate, but do it again please..........Orchids and Gold is a very slow grower for me too, even in a pot receiving lots of TLC all year. But I love its face and color. Everyone has a special child they nurture I'm sure...............Maryl

Maryl, I too love Muy Caliente and it is a good grower and increaser too. Your photos last year are what made me "have to" have it. and I am so glad they did. I don' know if you saw it, but I checked and Hot Tamales and REd Hots does indeed retain its color all day.

Thanks for checking Kay. I remember Hot Tamales and Red Hots back when New York Rita was posting here. I will move it up my list now that you've talked about how colorfast it is in the heat.......Muy Caliente had 3 blooms on it today and it was impressive.
