When those little shrubs in front grow your entry is not going to feel inviting. They will appear to be a barricade.

A planter under the doorbell, where the current candle holders are. Annuals in the flower bed. Perhaps along the boxwoods and by the tree.

Hi Hillary! Your house is beautiful, I love the tall entrance awning. Here are a few suggestions for what you can do to make your entrance a little more inviting. First, I think your greenery is lacking in style and intentionality; you have so much beautiful yard space that would look absolutely stunning with some wildflowers, lavender, fig trees, and so on. Its also a nice project for kids to help with, or an opportunity to pay some neighborhood kids to help. This might be something thats a little more involved, but the fact that the steps up to your door come from the side, and the front being blocked by plants is not very inviting. If you can, consider adding some steps and a path from the front door directly to the street, or have it loop back to the driveway. I also liked the other suggestions of a rain chain and some decor items. Another really out there idea is to paint the house, since the beams and front door are super dark. Since your roof is gray, you could easily paint just the house itself in a white or light gray shade, and it would create a much brighter appearance.
