Honestly, product manufactures have yet to figure out a consistent oil-rubbed bronze finish (for instance, door knobs almost always look black), so you are perfectly okay mixing ORB and black. In fact, mixing finishes is not the faux pas it was once made out to be. Go for it!

The style is as or more important than the finish. These are WHAT exactly?? Show them : ) Pendants and linear. Show us where they are going.......in a comment box. Pictures...

I have never liked ORB and black is timeless IMO. But we need to see what you are talking about as far as style of the 2 fixtures more than the color I think DR chandeleirs can be quite different from all the rest of the lighting since it is the star in the DR.

There would be two of the 3 light chandeliers over a very large island. The dining area is right next to the kitchen and the linear chandelier would be there. Probably about 10’ apart. This will also be next to the family room, where a wood and orb fan will be. The space is huge, but no walls separate them.

Not the worst marriage and not the best. The chandelier over the island and three? What is the WIDTH of the chandelier and 10" apart ? No.....too close together. They are also very suggestive of a Tuscan or European flavored kitchen.

As to the linear? You have no dimension for it, or your table.

You have no pictures of the space - so.......STILL?

Prob 5-6’ between the two 3-light chandeliers and the dining light is about 10’ from the island.

That is a lot of exposed bulbs. Something to consider ... the photos shown them with incandescent bulbs, which you can barely get these days and are banned in many areas. LED bulbs still don't look as nice.

The bulbs will be the new kind that are also dimmable. Mostly we will use recessed lighting.

Mary, I would be concerned with the island lights only because they won't offer much direct light. A downlight would be better.
